| I love the smell of Turkey in the morning |
 I guess I should be all Lisa Simpson and forgo Turkey for Tofu or some vegetables, but I just can't! I'm a meat eater! And while I love animals, and could never become a vegan, I still think it's more about how the animals are slaughtered than anything else. I KNOW there's a better way. People just don't want to spend the time and money to do it.
On a lighter note, we got out early today, at 3pm from work and I ran like a bat outta hell. I am so happy to be free! Is anyone going shopping on Friday? I haven't seen that many good deals. I'm gonna go out but I am not going to hunt for gifts, I'm just gonna buy something if I see it. No great TV on DVD out on sale. :(
I have a headache right now and am just going to chill and take it easy. I don't feel like staring at the computer right now but wanted to pop on to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I think I will go to the movies tommorow to see Twilight. I will see how things go. I'll see if I want to go out of the house and how I'm feeling. Man, the holidays are officially here. Once again. Whew!Labels: black friday, movies, thanksgiving, weekend |

| The Truth is Finally Out There |
 FINALLY "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" has come to theaters. After over two months of me spoiling myself, discussing, debating, and re-watching countless hours of episodes and re-obsessing with fanfiction my favorite investigative paranormal duo is back on the big screen, but more importantly just back together period.
I would like to say the movie is rooted firmly in 'just okay' but it was a little better than 'just okay' It slipped and sloshed through a plot that should have been better developed and way more creepy. I love Mulder and Scully and love David and Gillian for being on board for another movie 10 years later. I think they really knew this was for the fans and I thank them for it. Despite reviews, I am really thankful to have the reunion and the update on my favorite FBI agents. I give them each a kiss for that.
There is a plot about illicit organ harvesting and creating a "Frankenstein" type creation of sewing on male heads on female bodies, and also internal body parts as well. I don't have many readers so I don't think I'm spoiling anyone, and I don't think my 4 readers are X-Files fans anyway. But this type of plot is very bleak and ominous and right in line with TXF and could have been done so much better, I'm surprised Chris Carter didn't give us a better written story.
I feel bad because during many a viewing of Carter, Duchovny and Anderson at WonderCon on YouTube there was much talk of how "scary" it was and it was NOT! It was as far from scary as it could get and I wish they would have stopped saying that. Episodes were certainly scary and creepy and actually better than this movie. AND YET...
At the heart of the movie, I think, was Mulder and Scully and while we still had a story and a plot, fans only want that. They are who we love, they are who we stood in line to see. I came out of my house and went to a theater to see Mulder and Scully and I'd do it again for another movie too. I love Mulder and Scully and David and Gillian stepped right back into these characters with an effortless ease. They are older and wiser and their lives have been turned upside down. Mulder, on the run from the FBI, spends most of his days clipping news stories of strange stories and seems a little harried from it. A little depressing to see him this way, but soon he is back to the old Mulder and I continue to love him.

I adore that he and Scully are together and it is fantastic to know that they went on the run together and stayed together. Warms my heart just to know that these two are really in love now and are going to be together. There's just something in knowing that, in knowing that watching the show all those years and wanting them to end up together and knowing that our wishes were granted...Sigh. LOVED THAT!
The story follows religion, faith, beliefs, trust, forgiveness and also gay issues, but I won't get into too much of that in case someone wants to be surprised.
David and Gillian look great and have aged well. They look so beautiful and only a few shots of Gillian were unflattering and I wish the director saw that. They were horrible.
Overall, I like the movie. I plan on seeing it again and I hope that it does well enough that we can get another movie in a couple of years. I am a little embarrassed for those involved because fans have been blasting it since Friday and it's not getting any better. BUT we got Mulder and Scully together again and if nothing else, that will bring people around. For this movie that seems to be all we have a the moment. I think repeat viewings will help me make better connections and like it better, but for now I'm all about the Mulder and the Scully.
Do I recommend? Yes, I do. I think it has decent themes, though not excecuted well, but the acting is really tops and there is actually a nice amount of Mulder and Scully. It gets my vote.Labels: movies, weekend, x-files |

| The Dark Knight Commeth |
Like everyone else I went to see "The Dark Knight" on Saturday, and it...WAS ALL KINDS OF AWESOME AND THEN SOME! Seriously, Heath Ledger was dazzingly amazing, he became The Joker was so good at it. I really miss him. I say that like I knew him or something, but I feel so sad that he wasn't here to see how great the movie was and how so many people turned out to see it and to win the Oscar that he will win for his performance or to go to the premieres. That sucks so bad.
I plan on seeing The X-Files movies next week. I am excited, very happy for the new movie.
I am doing nothing special here thus nothing cool to post. I am simply working, working on getting something better and working on paying off my debt. I won't know what to do when I'm out of debt or at least have it much lower than it is. Sunday went by like it was on fast forward. It is already 9:20 p.m. That sucks! I can't wait until this weekend. X-Files! Whooo hoooo!
I also saw the Sex and the City Movie this weekend and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. People were talking about it but it was not bad, I really liked it.
Okay, since it's 400 degrees in my room I will blog you later. I have yet to buy an air conditioner. I know I should, but all I do is think about it, then the weather gets tolerable then before I know it it's September and I feel it's stupid to buy one in the fall, aaaaand then we're back to the Summer and I do the whole thing all over again. One of these days, one of these days Alice I'm gonna buy an air conditioner!Labels: movies |

 I seriously have not had the enthusiam to blog. Have not the interest or anything even remotely good to blog about.
I am much better about Tracy than I was, though if I think about her too long here come the tears. I can talk about her without crying now, that's a good point. I am currently in a total and tunnel vision obsession about the new X-Files Movie I can barely think of anything else and have even been having dreams of Mulder and Scully. Geeky? Crazy? Obsessive? I'm three for three, but I like it. I like trolling the internet for info on the movie, reading what other fans have to say, and watching endless hours of videos on Youtube.
The movie isn't coming out until the end of the freakin' summer! July 25th. So, I have to fill my movie void until then. I'm a movie whore so that shouldn't be too hard to do.
I hope all of you guys are well. I have been so busy and lazy that I haven't been by in weeks. Sadly, I didn't even miss my blog at all. Though, I do plan on change the pics to reflect my current obsession--when I get a chance. The weekend is not enough! Those little two days are not long enough to do anything, to relax, clean up, have fun and just get some rest.
Oh well. Check you guys later. Happy Tuesday!Labels: movies, x-files |

| The loss continues |
We buried Tracy on Friday the 11th in our backyard. I bought a headstone with her name on it. I still really miss her. I think about her a lot and have yet to move her food bowls. I still cry, but it has gotten less. I will always, always miss her and love. I cant' believe she's gone. I really can't, I just always thought she'd be here, old and grumpy *g* but here with us. I never thought about her dying. She'd been here so long I just can't believe she's not here anymore.
I still love you Tracy!
~~~~~~~~~~
In lighter news I plan on going on about my Summer movies. I'm waiting for several, my top ones being The Dark Knight, The X-Files, and The Happening. More on that later.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend guys, I'll see you soon.Labels: movies, Tracy |
| I'll miss you, Heath |
 I am so depressed about Heath Ledger's death. I really enjoyed his movies and liked him as an actor and he seemed like a really nice, humble person. I loved his accent, his smile and his personality. I feel sick when I think about it. He was so young and was surely on his way to an even bigger career with the new Batman movie.
I will miss him and I think it will be a long while before I can look at his movies. I know that I should in memoriam, but I can't do it, not yet. "10 things I hate about you" was the first time I began to like him, and really the first time I really, really noticed him and wanted to see him again. I can't watch that movie for a while either.
I think his death was an accident and will be ruled as such. I know it wasn't drugs. I think he was stressed and probably lonely and needed to rest. It is sad and very depressing to me.
Heath, I'll miss you.Labels: heath ledger, movies, sad |
| And a *?%$#% Merry Christmas to you too |
I frequently visit why are you stalking me? and recently she decided not to blog about work anymore, for whatever reason (though, obviously, she doesn't want to get found out and fired)
I often blog about work, and finding OTHER work, so I think I will take heed from her and follow in her footsteps. I won't blog anymore about my job hunt, or how much I hate my job (well, as much anymore) and I will try and be as discreet as possible, just on the off chance I'm found out. I used my real name to create this blog and I still have stuff out there on the internet under my real name like Fan Fiction (Yes, I'm a geek, what of it!??!) and much, mucy Buffy related obsessions, including my website, which I can't edit because I don't remember my password.
But I digress.
I'll make this my last post into the world of my circus, er, office craziness. Today a secretary got fired after being there about three weeks for making some racially motivated remarks. She's white and said something about black folks, and one of the girls got mad and told the office manager. She made ANOTHER COMMENT IN THE SAME DAY! and by 4:45 pm she was gone, not without a scene either.
She almost spit on the floor on the way out, almost taking our glass doors with her. Our office is never without insanity. I have to say it was actually a pretty good day. It went by fast and I spend most, if not all, of the day gossiping, laughing, talking and joking. Yes, work actually got done in there too, but all in all it was a great Friday. (not to self: keep this up)
I'm looking forward to my upcoming days off. Can't wait! I'm so tired now and am now updating my ipod, I'm so sick of those same songs.
I just bought I Am Legend by Richard Matheson. I was supposed to read this years ago, I mean something like 3 or 4 years ago and I can't remember if I couldn't find the book or was just too cheap to buy it. Actually, I don't remember finding it. At any rate, I'm sorta pissed that there is a movie now and now I'm reading the book. I didn't want to be one of "those" people who run out and buy the companion book to the movie, but alas I am. Hmph!
I'm still mad.
Anyway, it is something like 12:08 a.m. here and today wore me out. I will see you guys sometime this weekend, I'll drop by and poke my head in. Hope you're all doing well. Oh, and if you're wondering about the blog title, it was something the lady who was fired today probably would have said. I can't believe that happend, and right before Christmas. Man. *shakes head* Oh well.
Must go now. Getting tired.
| Cell Hell! |
I used to have pre-paid Virgin Mobile phone that died on me about a month ago. I have now become obsessive with getting a cell phone plan. I am currently trying out T-Mobile. I love the MyFaves thing, but for some reason I keep getting an "echo" when I talk. Not all the time, but more than once I got an echo where there'd be a 2 second delay between me talking and then I'd hear myself talking loud and clear! It was impossible to carry on a conversation like that.
I don't know if it's the phone or what, but I can't deal with that. The phone is a Moto razr. It was $50, activation fee $35 and plan $39.99, so this wasn't cheap. I want a Motorola razr and my next step is U.S. Cellular and I'm going to get the ProductRed (to help combat AIDS) The phone will be $79.00 and the activation fee $30. I don't know if I should go with the $29 or $39 plan. I don't use the cell that often, but I want to get the most for my money. Sigh, I don't know. Ugh! I'm going to try out U.S. Cellular for 30 days and see who they are. I'm crossing my fingers it's better than T-Mobile.
I have the magenta moto razr with T-Mobile and it's not the one I want. It's sort of tacky. Anyway, not that this is news, but I will let you know what phone I'm using soon and what plan I went with.
**********
I can't believe that is Friday again already! I feel like I was just saying Have a nice weekend and here I am saying it again. I got 2 hours sleep last night and I wondered how in the hell I would make it through today...but I did. Yea me!
Does anyone want to see the new Harry Potter? Damn, those kids grew up! They're grown men and women! I feel like an old lady. I feel like saying, 'my, how much you've grown!" Hermoine is a woman! LOL. The story looks like it is darker and scarier. I guess all bets are off in the last book. We'll see who survives--and what her next book series will be.
I was caught in a typhoon here yesterday. The rain was hellish and totally ripped apart my umbrella as I was crossing the street. The wind and rain and just laughed as it crushed my little light blue mini umbrella, along with another ladies. All we could do was laugh too. Hmph!
I'm off to visit you guys. Take care, stay dry and enjoy the weekend!Labels: cell phone, movies, weekend |
| Two days is not enough |
Ugh! The weekend is over. I enjoyed this weekend very much, actually. The weather wasn't bad, it didn't rain (great for my roof) and work has been okay, even though I usually feel like I can be doing much better career wise and definitely financially. I certainly know I'm can do better than what I'm doing.
At any rate, I spent some time at our first ever Looptopia Friday night, and had a blast. Granted, I didn't stay all night, but I stayed until 11pm or so and then I was tired and cold, so I went home. There was plenty to do, from ally raves, to book readings, to drag queen contests, to performance art. Hell, even the local library was open until midnight. The geek I am, I wanted to head over and check out books. hee.
Saturday I want to the show and saw "28 Weeks Later" Good, but there were some pretty stupid moves by the characters. Direction/writing could have been better. I shopped around and got home after 5pm. Sunday I went out only to get food.
Mother's day was cool, I got my mom just what she wanted. Some British DVD's. Yes, she spends 90% of her day on the BBC. LOL. She loves her mysteries.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to any moms who read my blog. I just wanted to stop by, man has it been that long since I posted? It's Sunday night, and I need my sleep. I will probably see you guys next weekend.
Take care, be careful and I'll see you soon!Labels: looptopia, mothers day, movies, weekend |
| Man, is it time for Monday already? |
I had a very nice weekend, even though it still hasn't prepared me for the week. I hate the weeks, only the weekends. But don't we all? I went to see Grindhouse Saturday and it was fucking awesome! Funny, gory and violent. So you know it was good. "Death Proof" was actually better than "Planet Terror" But "Planet Terror" was funnier, but don't get me wrong, I laughed like hell on "Death Proof" too. I TOTALLY recommend!
Me and my sister were one of four people in the theater, we stretched out, had a great time and ate like horses. This is our list of Concessions Stand items: Two large drinks (fruit punch; pink lemonade), one large popcorn, cheese fries and a nachos bell grande (chips, cheese, salsa, chilli, and sour cream) all this was shared AND we got a refill on the pops and popcorn. Yes, I'm actually still full from all that food. LOL
In other news, I planning a trip to Las Vegas. I don't know when, but I have totally been looking into it. It's a trip I've been planning for a couple of years and never took. I've been buying a lot of other stuff, but now I'd like to put some money into this trip and actually go. One of these days I hope to blog from Vegas.
Have a great week people. I'm gonna try like hell myself.Labels: monday, movies, vegas |
| I'd like a comedy please |
My sister and I have been getting a lot of horror movies through my beloved Netflix We love horror, yes we do. However, even I can take so much. After a weekend of demented, disgusted and sickening horror, I'm in need of an Arthur cartoon or a nice romantic comedy or something. I need to go back and watch "Dirty Dancing."
The last movies we looked at, besides Saw 3 which is in its own catagory of gross, was Masters of Horror. This series is a bunch of well known and respected horror directors made movies (about 1 hour each) and they made a series out of them. Since I don't have Showtime, I had to Netflix this and we've seen about 5 so far. Some were cool, some were very good and some were pretty boring.
There is one called "Imprint" that has the most heinous torture scene imaginable. Really. I can't imagine doing that to my worse enemy. Ugh! Horrible! It was the torture that was so gruesome that I was thinking about it today. It's by a Japanese director that seems to like horrific torture scenes. I've seen a couple of his other movies. Not for the squeemish.
In Apolo news. I saw my cutie tonight on DWTS and he was really good. A lot better than some of the stiff hacks on there. I mean, Clyde and Billie Ray Cyrus? Get to steppin'! If you're so inclined to vote for anyone, you know who I want you to vote for. I had to register at abc.com to vote. When I called they told me voting in my time zone was closed. (!!!!) and 'grrrr' but registration was merely a password and email and I could vote right away. There are 9 votes per email address and I think it's the same by phone.
Voting by phone: 1-800-868-3411 for "Apolo and Julianne"
Vote for Apolo and Julianne also online!
I did my part, will you? LOL. Kidding. I'm just teasing. Vote if you want, but keep me in mind if you do. *hint, hint*
Oh, does anyone here watch The Soprano's? I thought it was a pretty low key episode, (the quite before the storm) with the exception of the Monopoly fight. Well done by the way, a nice build up to such a knock down fight. If anyone watches let me know, then I will gab more on my blog. I won't say anymore in this post.
Ahh, work tommorow. I must go to bed. I'm nothing without my sleep. I hope everyone had a nice Easter! Have a nice Tuesday.Labels: Apolo, movies |
| Freebie! |
 A co-worker/friend and I went to a free screening of "Blades of Glory" staring Will Ferrell and Jon Heder. It was so funny! I knew it was going to be funny, but it was really nice to laugh. The screening was packed. Yes, all us losers came out that evening for a free movie.
It was a bit silly in parts, but overall it was hysterical. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars on Netflix.
Right now I'm watching a show on cable about the devils of the internet. It is very interesting. It covered everything from porn, to online gambling, pedophiles in chat rooms, suicides/bullying on myspace, and buying drugs, basically everything bad you can do online.
One of the most interesting (and depressing) were the ones where people died, like a young 13-year-old who was teased about being gay online in some chat room. It drove him to suicide and that is so sad! He was online pretty much every second (in his room behind closed doors) and his parents didn't like it, but they didn't take the steps they should have. The computer should be in a neutral room in the house with kids.
Then, another one was a girl who was smart and won a scholarship to a Florida University, and suddenly 6 months after being there emailed her family and said she was depressed, had been that way a long time and wanted to die, and that she was sorry but that when they get that email she'd be dead, and she took some cyanide in a motel room. God, that's awful.
I'm sorry to depress you guys for the weekend. I didn't mean too.
I'm tired, I was out all day today, I spent a lot of money this week. Argh! I hadn't planned on it, I have now decided to get a video ipod. So, when I do, I shall tell you. Yes, that is a big purchase for me, $250. Whew! We'll see!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!Labels: life, movies |
