| DANCE SUCKERS! (But watch the toes) |
My summer obsession "So You Think You Can Dance" is coming to a close in a few short weeks. I'm a tv whore and would be nothing without it. Off topic for a moment, I see those commercials about giving up your Comcast or doing something idiotic and I think, if I had to give up TV period I'd curl up in a corner and mumble nonsense. So, speaking of TV...
I vote every week for SYTYCD and I was pretty sure I knew who would be in the final four. I was surprised by Courtney, but I realized she had danced too well and had been praised by the judges too much to get the boot, even if they weren't picking anymore. Then again, Chelsea pulled her own and got just as many praises so I'm not sure how the voting went there. But since all I cared about was Josh, Kate and Twitch I'm a happy camper. YES!
XXXXXXX
This snap shot is just so you can see my desktop pic. I get pulled into my obsessions quite fully and, as you may have noticed from Buffy, and with BtVS I will never let them go. I never let go of The X-Files either and am still proud to call myself and X-Phile. Nearly 20 years later I still feel the way I felt about the show then, so that's called impact. Thank you Chris Carter--for consuming my life for so many years! ;) I am still disappointed slightly in the movie, but it is growing no me and overall I did like it.

And just a side note, the first X-Files movie "Fight the Future" has fallen into obscurity and is now costing anywhere from $40 to $100 to buy. WHAT THE FUCK?! I love me some X-Files but I don't understand why the movie is hard to find now. Yes, if you search you can probably find it cheaper, but damn it, people are asking a lot for this movie and I don't understand that, and I don't understand why The X-Files? Did FOX/Paramount do something? Why pull the movie and make it a hard-to-find release? Strange phenomena indeed.
Aaaaaaand lastly, I have a habit of toenail picking. WAIT! it's not as gross as it sounds, okay, maybe it is. I will have a long toenail and instead of using clippers, I will start to pull and tear it and usually I can cut it like that, though it's the wrong way, but I do it. in the last couple of weeks I did that with my second to last toenail and pulled it so bad the nail bed is showing quite a bit and I think I got it infected. I'm trying everything to keep from going to the doctor, so I hope what I'm doing (massive daily cleanings, neosporin and bandaids) help it and the nail will grow back. Right now it looks like it was bleeding and the blood clotted as there is a very dark red spot on at the tip. Sigh, the things I do to myself.
I'm also THIS CLOSE to just buying a damn air conditioner. I always do this. I can get through okay without one until, say, the end of August then I just buy nothing because fall/winter is right around the corner and I feel stupid buying one. BUT I don't think I can wait anymore. I want one. We'll see....
Until next time...Have a great weekend!Labels: Buffy, so you think you can dance, toenail, weekend, x-files |

| The Truth is Finally Out There |
FINALLY "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" has come to theaters. After over two months of me spoiling myself, discussing, debating, and re-watching countless hours of episodes and re-obsessing with fanfiction my favorite investigative paranormal duo is back on the big screen, but more importantly just back together period.
I would like to say the movie is rooted firmly in 'just okay' but it was a little better than 'just okay' It slipped and sloshed through a plot that should have been better developed and way more creepy. I love Mulder and Scully and love David and Gillian for being on board for another movie 10 years later. I think they really knew this was for the fans and I thank them for it. Despite reviews, I am really thankful to have the reunion and the update on my favorite FBI agents. I give them each a kiss for that.
There is a plot about illicit organ harvesting and creating a "Frankenstein" type creation of sewing on male heads on female bodies, and also internal body parts as well. I don't have many readers so I don't think I'm spoiling anyone, and I don't think my 4 readers are X-Files fans anyway. But this type of plot is very bleak and ominous and right in line with TXF and could have been done so much better, I'm surprised Chris Carter didn't give us a better written story.
I feel bad because during many a viewing of Carter, Duchovny and Anderson at WonderCon on YouTube there was much talk of how "scary" it was and it was NOT! It was as far from scary as it could get and I wish they would have stopped saying that. Episodes were certainly scary and creepy and actually better than this movie. AND YET...
At the heart of the movie, I think, was Mulder and Scully and while we still had a story and a plot, fans only want that. They are who we love, they are who we stood in line to see. I came out of my house and went to a theater to see Mulder and Scully and I'd do it again for another movie too. I love Mulder and Scully and David and Gillian stepped right back into these characters with an effortless ease. They are older and wiser and their lives have been turned upside down. Mulder, on the run from the FBI, spends most of his days clipping news stories of strange stories and seems a little harried from it. A little depressing to see him this way, but soon he is back to the old Mulder and I continue to love him.

I adore that he and Scully are together and it is fantastic to know that they went on the run together and stayed together. Warms my heart just to know that these two are really in love now and are going to be together. There's just something in knowing that, in knowing that watching the show all those years and wanting them to end up together and knowing that our wishes were granted...Sigh. LOVED THAT!
The story follows religion, faith, beliefs, trust, forgiveness and also gay issues, but I won't get into too much of that in case someone wants to be surprised.
David and Gillian look great and have aged well. They look so beautiful and only a few shots of Gillian were unflattering and I wish the director saw that. They were horrible.
Overall, I like the movie. I plan on seeing it again and I hope that it does well enough that we can get another movie in a couple of years. I am a little embarrassed for those involved because fans have been blasting it since Friday and it's not getting any better. BUT we got Mulder and Scully together again and if nothing else, that will bring people around. For this movie that seems to be all we have a the moment. I think repeat viewings will help me make better connections and like it better, but for now I'm all about the Mulder and the Scully.
Do I recommend? Yes, I do. I think it has decent themes, though not excecuted well, but the acting is really tops and there is actually a nice amount of Mulder and Scully. It gets my vote.Labels: movies, weekend, x-files |

| YES, I WANT TO BELIEVE! |
As my seven blog friends know I'm a rabid, crazy fan of the X-Files, so I'm too ready for the movie. I have prepared myself with articles, forums, trailers, TV episodes and fan fiction for two months and now it's here!
Tomorrow I'm going to see the movie and I can't wait. I am going to enjoy it and enjoy myself and not think of anything negative. I have decided against that.
My money problems have swamped me. I missed a payment on a CC, *idiot* and somehow forgot to pay the phone bill *double idiot* so there's going to be a lot of money going out this month and not much coming in. GULP! I am determined to get out from under my CC debt. I can't take it anymore. This time next year I plan on being debt free, or at least still paying on my loan as my primary bill. I plan on only using my Capital One credit card as my only credit card and giving way to Chase, Discover, and Citi Card.
I have had several epiphanies about my debt, but I am tired of it. And if you recall how my sister fucked up my credit by using my SS# and thus defaulting on those cards, I have now had to take over paying on those cards so that's now 2 more bills I didn't need. If I had the courage I'd use more of my savings to pay but I just can't do it, I need that savings to be there when I need it. Sigh. Give me hope and faith people! I need it!
Anyhoo, God bless the X-Files and God bless the Weekend. I'll be back to tell you how the movie was. :)Labels: debt, money, weekend, x-files |

Summer has finally launched on us. It was HOT here today and it felt really nice. Although, while my bedroom feels like 90 degrees this post will be short. First, sorry to my reader(s), I haven't been by in a while and I miss you guys. I hate when I stop by and there are 5 and 6 posts that I have missed commenting on. *bad gunngirl*
I haven't been up to much of anything. I am thinking of taking a couple days off in the next two or three weeks. I need them. I just need a second to do what I want to do...which is write. I know, I know, I've said it all before. I'm gonna be 70 before I write this fucking book. Hell, at this point I don't even care about publishing, just can I get it finished already?!
I was reading this post by EH about wasting time on the internet and I thought, 'That's me!' LOL
Seriously, I waste vast, oceans of time, acres of time in which we can plant crops on the internet. Unfortunately, I have re-opened my X-Files obsession with the new movie coming out and all. My obsession was bad before, but now watching music videos, interviews and show bloopers on YouTube has taken up all my spare moments. Seriously. When I'm not doing that I'm fooling around in iTunes or on Television Without Pity (TwOP) another TV site. Barring that I'm on blogs, at Amazon.com, email, playing computer games, playing video games, on Netflix or watching TV shows online.
When I'm not online watching X-Files I'm freakin' watching X-Files on DVD and if not that it's Smallville, Supernatural, Buffy, Firefly or La Femme Nikita. Sad, but true. And then my Netflix account also takes up time. I just recently watched "Cloverfield" (crazy and overhyped, but good and scary nonetheless. ) I just don't make the dedicated time to do what I should be doing. Even job hunting has taken a back seat. That is the worst of all.
I feel sad and disappointed about that. I'm in my thirties and have dreaming about writing a novel my whole life. What the fuck am I doing? At any rate, I think I'm going to just to the library one day and just brainstorm. Just dedicate some time to myself and work on it. What's holding me up, besides the procrastination, is that I waver on what the story/plot is and I hate that. I know what I want, but I don't know how to get there. Grrr Arrgh!
Okay, it's getting past my bedtime. I'm gonna go. So, not that any of you will, or even want too, but I have done this with a couple other bloggers. If you ever want to drop me a line, or bug me about a post or, (Wow!) ask when I'm gonna post something new you can email me. I do that from time to time with a couple bloggers. It's nice.

| All the same |
Sadly, I have nothing new to report on my blog. Are my blogging days over? I was thinking about that a few days ago. Even as I mouth off about not wanting to quit blogging, I realize that I come here less and less. What I'd really like to do is start another website again.
I had a website that I managed YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS... okay, it wasn't that many yeas ago, but it was back in my Buffy days and my X-Files days, so it was some time ago. I, along with the rest of the masses, jumped on the bandwagon when the internet really started to take off and be used for the glorious uses of TV and movie fans getting together in chat rooms, forums and fan made websites, porn and email.
I was obsessed with having my own webpage, using photoshop and visiting other fan made pages. I started a site for Buffy (I was sadly somewhat editing software challenged in the days of The X-Files and didn't have a page for that) but I had a couple of websites for BtVS. I contributed to fanfiction and wrote many stories, even a novel length book involving characters from the show. Supergeek? Yes, that is me and I'm proud of it. *pumps fist* I AM NOT ALONE!
But as Buffy left and the X-Files left the airwaves so did the sites. It is depressing actually, to think of how the internet THRIVED with so many XF and Buffy sites. I mean, it was bustling and hustling and I sat there for hours upon hours gleefully enjoying every photo, every story, every fan comment. I loved it and I really do miss it. I have yet to find another show that makes me feel that way. I am still obsessed with XF and Buffy to this day and can't get enough.
I am currently so obsessed with the The X-Files I have gone back to some of those sites and found fan fiction to read. I stay on Youtube watching fan made videos and forums are my new best friend. I have noticed that my blog pals have stretched far and many have finally given up out to pasture. I miss them.
If I get a bit of time I will probably put a change to my blog, but I don't know. As for now I'll be around. See you guys later. If I don't get back this weekend have a great Memorial Day Holiday.Labels: Buffy, memorial day, x-files |

I seriously have not had the enthusiam to blog. Have not the interest or anything even remotely good to blog about.
I am much better about Tracy than I was, though if I think about her too long here come the tears. I can talk about her without crying now, that's a good point. I am currently in a total and tunnel vision obsession about the new X-Files Movie I can barely think of anything else and have even been having dreams of Mulder and Scully. Geeky? Crazy? Obsessive? I'm three for three, but I like it. I like trolling the internet for info on the movie, reading what other fans have to say, and watching endless hours of videos on Youtube.
The movie isn't coming out until the end of the freakin' summer! July 25th. So, I have to fill my movie void until then. I'm a movie whore so that shouldn't be too hard to do.
I hope all of you guys are well. I have been so busy and lazy that I haven't been by in weeks. Sadly, I didn't even miss my blog at all. Though, I do plan on change the pics to reflect my current obsession--when I get a chance. The weekend is not enough! Those little two days are not long enough to do anything, to relax, clean up, have fun and just get some rest.
Oh well. Check you guys later. Happy Tuesday!Labels: movies, x-files |
