| A second to chill out |
Ahhhh, a few days off, and it feels good already. I should have taken more time, like a whole week, but I decided to save some vacation days. I know I'm gonna need them soon in that place. LOL.
I hope you are all doing well. It's been a while since I passed by your blogs. Sorry! I don't have much to say. I've still been looking into my vet tech thing, and you know what? It costs too freakin' much! $9,000 + for 2 years and a certification at the end. WTF? I don't know. I just don't see paying that much at then not even really making that much afterward. I don't want to almost ten grand in the hole at the end of this. Sheesh. I'll keep you posted.

| Summer Cleaning |
I have decided to tackle the horror show that is my bedroom. It looks like an explosion of magazines, clothes, DVD's and papers happened. It's not pretty. Seriously, if I weren't so embarrassed I'd take pictures and post them for you to see. I'll do that when I get it a little cleaner. Heh.
I have a little mini vacation coming up and I'm looking forward to it. I plan on going to the Taste of Chicago. It's always fun times, and who doesn't love to eat? I have some other food pics to show you guys. I might have to start a food blog. Or some sort of Restaurant blog or something. LOL.
Oh well, I'm gonna get back to cleaning and watching "The 4400". (crosses fingers I come out alive) I have TWO giant garbage bags and you can't tell I even cleaned anything! Yes, it's that messy.
I will also update you later on my writing and a call to a Vet Tech Rep and tell you how that goes. We'll see.

| Hot and Hotter |
And no, I'm not hot in a sexy way either. I'm just hot. It got up to 95 degrees here. Ugh! I'm sweltering now. I'm not going to be long because something is making my computer drag and it's a bitch to type.
I have seriously been thinking about making a move into a career with animals. I don't know what, but something. I'm thinking about Vet Tech or even perhaps a Veterinarian. Aside from an actual Vet, nothing else is rewarding financially. Granted, I wouldn't be doing it for the money, but I don't exactly want to be living in a shack on the corner because of my chosen profession either. I'd like to be able to live decently while doing something I enjoy.
That is what's scary. While I want to really do it, I know how I feel right now and I don't make shit, and I can't afford anything and I don't even like what I do, so I'm really pissy. I would like to be able to save some money and be able to live and have a little something when I'm old.
But I can't think of another profession that really interests me, and I dont' want to just do something for the money, and not really like it. Yeah, something you grow to like, but still...
Decisions, decisions. I'll keep you posted.

| If Friday was a song, I'd sing it |
I am SOOOOOOOO happy today is Friday. The damn weekend will be over before you know it. I want to go to our book fair Printers Row book fair. It's been going on every year and I have yet to go. Grrrr! Must get there one day!
It is now 11pm and I want something to do, but am actually pretty lazy. When I don't need to go to sleep, that's what I want to do.
I'm getting my finances in order. I'm going to pay off some credit card bills, and then work feverishly on my loan. I hate having debt like that. I plan on getting rid of that in less than two years.
I just bought the new Laurell K. Hamilton book and I haven't finished the other one. I guess that's what I'll do, get in the bed and read that. Decisions, decisions. lol.
But I will share this crazy dream I had: My sister and I were riding on a bus. I can't remember if it was a Coach bus or a regular public bus, I think a Coach. Anyway, the bus breaks down and it's crowded, there were a lot of people on the bus. So, we're all standing around waiting for instructions and wondering what we're going to do. So, the bus driver hands us these cards, I guess gift cards or something for a shoe store that's right there on the same street that our bus is on, so we go in and it's a feeding frenzy of shoes.
Me and my sister start shopping and quickly lose each other. I'm looking at shoes but there are non in my size. Shoes, boots, heels, I can't find anything in my size. Eventually me and my sister find each other, and I can't remember what happened next.
LOL. Crazy, I know. And I'm not even a shoe person! I own one pair of heels.

| Mid Week Mood |
I haven't been up to much. I'm trying to get my Mojo back and get back into writing. I'm going to be 90 by the time I finish my damn book. I am not the writer I should be. I have yet to carefully plan out my plot, the characters, the story, events and locals.
It's not writers block, or even procrastination. I don't know what it is. Actually, I think it's just the simple fact that I don't know what kind of story I want to tell. Any originality is sorely lacking. There's a trillion and one books featuring Vampires, and most are crap. Out of that trillion, 4 are readable.
I want a dark story, I want a lead character with darkness and light, I want her to be a hero, but flawed and fighting her own personal battles. I want her to be special, but not really know that she is. I want her to be supernatural, but I have yet to figure out just how to introduce that. I want her to be born with this skill, but there needs to be a reason why she is born with this skill.
Initially I was going to be having her working for this organization that fought demons, but that is edging too close to my Beloved and well watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer. (er, Homage anyone?)
There are somethings I have worked out, but other (big important ones like, oh, I don't know, like THE PLOT!) are doomed.
I've been to square one so many times it's starting to look like a circle.

| S-S-Saturday! |
Whoops! I totally forgot I had a blog! *sheepish grin* The work week was pretty darn good, I have to say. Unfortunately, the office manager is back from vac. and she was already emailing everyone no Friday. Damn! Your vacation is still going on, enjoy it! We'll be there Monday. Sheesh!
You have no idea how great it was that she was gone. Ahhh, I'll miss it. I'm pretty much chilling today. I don't have any cool news except I finally bought myself an iPod. Yep, I'm finally one of the cool kids now. LOL. It's a Video ipod and I'm very pleased with it, thank you very much. I have the black one. When I get a chance I'm going to take a picture of what I have engraved on the back. Hee. I have "Lost" and "The Shield" on it, those are the two TV shows I have so far. I love it. But I know need new headphones, the ear buds suck.
The weather is in the 80's with scattered rain, but today is super nice, cool, windy, warm and lovely. Three cheers for Saturdays!
Now, I'm off to finish watching "Pirates of the Carribean:Dead Man's Chest"
