Stuffed Weekend |
I have so much crap to do this weekend--and none of it is fun! I need to clean out the refrigerator, clean up the house in general, download some stuff on the internet, look into buying some desperately needed computer space (as in a flash drive), save and re-install The Sims (yeah, I'm playing again. Dorky, I know), buy an oven, call around and try and get some letter that the IRS is looking for, make sure bills are paid, do laundry and then finally, MAYBE, I can sleep, eat and watch TV in there somewhere.
I'm trying to make the most out of our Holiday weekend (no work Monday) so I'm trying to plan things out now, but I also want to just sit and do nothing too. Looking at the above list, that's not going to happen. Though, I do plan on doing the bulk of the work on Saturday. I plan on getting up early and just hitting the list. Whoo hoo! (we'll see what happens Saturday, heh)
I probably won't post again until Saturday, so I want everyone to have a nice rest of your week and an eventful (or uneventful) weekend.
Take care!Labels: holiday, weekend |

Ahh, to be rich |
I am in a financial hell hole this month. There are a kazillion repairs that need to be done at the house starting with the roof (leaking) and moving onto the toilet, the sink, and the oven (need a new one)
And then I was an idiot and missed the payment date on two credit cards (late fee). So, I'm just an all around poor dumbass this month. I was thinking of how it would be so lovely to just call up Mr. Fix-it when anything went wrong. To have the money to get anything fixed whether it was $10 or $10,000 would be great. I am resigned that I will forever be in debt. I think that's better than holding onto the idea that I will one day be debt free. Nope, never gonna happen.
**********
I went to the library today and I haven't been in over a year. I missed the library! My old dorky, geeky self actually said I missed the library. I love the library, I love books. I checked a couple. Now, if I only read them. Hmmm, that seems like a good idea to do with books.
Me and my sister also saw about 100 ladies from the Red Hat Society. They were everywhere. Maybe you might spot some in your town. lol.
Well, that's about all the news that's fit to print. It's been raining like crazy, and now we're going back up into the 90's next week. Man, will this weather ever regulate?
Enjoy what's left of your weekend!Labels: books, debt, library, money, roof |

Monday Again? |
The weekend is gone. It went by in a flash, but at least I did accomplish the cleaning of my bedroom and some slight organization. I am not looking forward to the work week. I need another vacation...bad.
I'm in a bit of a panic. I have a problem with my big toes. WARNING: YOU MIGHT NOT LIKE TO HEAR THE NEXT PART.
I think it might be a toenail fungus--or maybe an ingrown toe nail. Actually, I don't know what is going on. I cancelled a recent doctor's appointment and got another one but it's all the way in September and I'm hoping that won't be too late.
The toenail on my big toe looks like it's gradually working itself away from the nail bed and is also (or either) curving in a way that looks like it's growing into my toe. Grossed out? I know I am. I put some Tea Tree oil on it and I hope that will help.
Sorry to creep you out, I'm creeped out myself. It was hurting this morning, but now the pain is gone. I think it might be due to too tight shoes. I don't know how this can correct itself. I'm hoping to get a referral to a Podiatrist.
Yeah, this is all I need for Monday. You know, when I look at episoes of "Lost" I I'd rather take my chances on The Island (even more if Jack and Sawyer are there) than go to work. That's right. I'd rather be lost on an Island--with creatures and The Others than go to my job. That's saying something, ain't it? lol
Since I'm on this subject, for my two readers now (where is everybody?) Tell me what TV situation you'd rather live other than your current situation (if you'd like to get out of that situation)
C'mon, it'll be fun. I promise! ;) Have a great week!Labels: lost, monday, toenail, work |

Frankie Says Relax! |
I've been listening to a lot of 80's songs on my ipod, Pat Benatar, Cyndi Lauper and INXS to name a few. Frankie Goes to Hollywood is another and right now all I can think of is RELAXING! like Frankie says. LOL, I'm so tired this week. I plan on holing up this weekend, watching my Netflix movies and cleaning up the house.
I also plan on finishing up Angel Season 3 on DVD. I'm re-watching the show. It's after 9pm so you know I'm an old lady, time for me to get ready for bed. LOL.
THE WEEKEND IS COMING! THE WEEKEND IS COMING! Sleeping in is the next best thing beside eating. :)Labels: weekend |

Writers Write, dammit |
I had a post some time ago about buckling down and writing. I have yet to do that. But I have been thinking about it, honest! Basically I am going to do like Joss Whedon, the genius behind my beloved Buffy and plot out my entire book, like he does for an entire season of BtVS. I am going to get a notebook and create my characters, create the plot, enemies, people I'm going to kill, the highs, the lows and finally the ending. I'm going to do this because without it I will do what I have been doing for years, go off on a tanget, start changing things and never get anything finished.
I still have dreams about changing the world with my book like Ms. J.K. Rowling and don't know where to start. Hmm, to do what hasn't been done before--or a fresh twist on something knew. Wow, that's hard! LOL. Brain? start grinding.
*******
On a dancing note, I'm happy that Danny, Neil and Lacey made it into the finals on "So You Think You Can Dance" If I had my way, I'd make them all winners.
*******
On a weather note, it finally cooled down here. Yea! I thought I was going to melt a couple of days ago. Ugh!
On a completely unrelated note our stove went kerplooey and we need a new one. I really don't need this unexpected expense, but I'm glad I found some pretty affordable ovens. Whew!
*******
Last but not least, on another Buffy note, I have been looking for the first issue in the Buffy, the Vampire Slayer Season Eight comic, and have been scared to see it online for up to $100. It's the first issue and it's hard to find now and people are cashing in. I did however find it in a comic book store downtown and they will hold it for me. Now I won't have to pay the pricey shipping on a site I finally found it on. Perfect.Labels: Buffy, so you think you can dance, writing |

BUFFY AND ANGEL FANS UNITED! |
Yesterday I went to a "Buffy Marathon" for charity. It was for the Make a Wish foundation for a little girl who has a cancerous brain tumor. IT WAS THE BEST TIME EVER! Ahhh, to be surrounded by other Buffyphites and converse and just be our geeky, over-buffyzelous selves. Hee.
What we did was watch Buffy and Angel episodes, play Buffy related games and participate in auctions on Buffy related merchandise. There was a Buffy trivia game, (you played games according to a lighted bracelet you got when you came in) This girl, a sister, I have to add, won and got the Buffy Library as a prize. What an AWESOME prize. I wanted it. I dragged my sister and along with two other black girls (including the one who one the trivia game) we were the only 4 black people there. LOL, but it was nice that I'm not the only black obsessive Buffy fan. Ha!
There was food, two buffets throughout the event and you could order food and have them bring it to your table, soft drinks included. So many people came, it was awesome. A lot of people came ready for the day, you could sit at tables or camp out on the floor. There were plenty of people laid out on the floor with pillows, blankets, sleeping bags and other goodies. We took off our shoes and relaxed. It was so great to be among other Buffy fans, it was great. Did I say that already?
I will post the pictures I have. The link to the website is slayathon.org
I won an auction on a "Demon Giles" $27. There was a live auction with some very cool stuff, but only about three people were bidding big, well up to $150. Most stuff went for between $30 and $50 and the lady that was helping run it was getting visably frustrated that no one was bidding or bidding hight. I don't think many people came there to spend THAT much money. I gave a $20 donation any my sister gave $10. This guy in front of us gave $50 or $60, but I gave what I could afford.
At any rate, it was the best Saturday I had this year. I plan on being there next year. There were some adults there that were waaaaaaay nerdy. But I'll still hang out with Buffy fans any day, overly geeky or not. They're my people!
Enjoy your week guys!Labels: Buffy, slayathon, weekend |
